Disney+ will launch in Europe ahead of schedule on March 24

Baby Yoda is due for an early arrival across the pond.

Disney+ will launch in Western Europe a week earlier than planned following the streaming service’s explosive North American debut, the Mouse House announced Tuesday.

March 24 will be the first day viewers in the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria and Switzerland can access Disney’s streaming library, which includes the hit “Star Wars” series “The Mandalorian.”

Disney initially planned to bring Disney+ to those markets March 31 after the service’s Nov. 12 launch in the US, Canada and the Netherlands. More than 10 million subscribers signed up for the platform in its first day despite several technical glitches.

A European Disney+ subscription will cost 6.99 euros or 5.99 British pounds each month, roughly in line with the US fee of $6.99 a month. Annual subscriptions will run 69.99 euros or 59.99 pounds, Disney said.

The Mouse House plans to bring Disney+ to more markets in Western Europe this summer, including Portugal, Belgium and the Nordic countries.
