Fotis Dulos, accused in wife Jennifer’s murder, dead after suicide attempt

Fotis Dulos, the Connecticut man accused of killing his wife, Jennifer, died at Jacobi Medical Center Thursday, two days after a suicide attempt at his home.

His death was confirmed by his lawyer, Norm Pattis, who said outside the hospital that Dulos died at 5:32 p.m. His family plans to continue to fight his case, Pattis said.

“His family came in from Greece and decided today to donate his organs so that he will live on in some form in the assistance that he can provide to others in their own individual struggles,” Pattis said.

“The family is adamant that his name be cleared,” he added.

“We intend to proceed on as if he were alive to vindicate him because we think he’s wrongfully accused. We will be seeking the discovery that we were supposed to get just the other day. So it’s been a truly horrific day for the family, filled with difficult decisions, medical tests and meeting the requirements to determine his death,” Pattis said.

Dulos, a luxury-home builder, is charged with kidnapping and murdering his estranged wife and mother of his five children, Jennifer Dulos.

The couple, who married in 2004, were in the midst of a nasty divorce and custody battle when Jennifer, 50, vanished after dropping her kids off at school May 24, 2019.

Initial reports on Tuesday said Dulos died of carbon monoxide poisoning, but cops later said he survived the attempt.

Before his suicide attempt on Tuesday, Dulos left behind a note saying he did not murder Jennifer, according to reports.

The note proclaiming his innocence was found Wednesday during the latest state police search of his Farmington property.

The search turned up no new clues to what happened to the still-missing mother of five, the Hartford Courant reported.
