Prince Andrew’s second cousin has insisted that the scandal-scarred royal is not a pedophile — he’s just “an idiot.”
“What can he say? ‘I’m sorry I was an idiot’?” Christina Oxenberg, 57, asked Fox News of escalating pressure for the disgraced prince to talk to the FBI about his links to late pedophile pal Jeffrey Epstein.
“He did idiotic things. But he’s not a pedophile,” Oxenberg stressed.
“Forgive me, my sweet cousin Andrew, but the dude couldn’t organize a dinner party, let alone a sex-trafficking ring.
“Andrew is not a mastermind sex-trafficking ring organizer,” she insisted, saying she is “sure he’s filled with regret and remorse” for the scandal he has sparked.
“He loves his mother and doesn’t want to bring her grief,” she told Fox.
Oxenberg, the sister of actress Catherine Oxenberg, maintained that Epstein targeted the Duke of York to give himself credibility, using accused madam Ghislaine Maxwell to attain his “goal” of a royal contact.
“Andrew didn’t know he was being used,” Big Apple-born Oxenberg told Fox.
“Jeffrey was a pervert. Ghislaine was an enabler of a pervert. So they are the problem and I want the focus to be on Ghislaine,” she said of the media heiress who has been in hiding since reportedly becoming the focus of the FBI investigation following Epstein’s death in his Manhattan lockup in August.
“The only thing the FBI needs to know from Andrew is, ‘How do we find Ghislaine?’ That’s all you need from him.”
In a direct message to her royal cousin, Oxenberg said she was “sorry you were betrayed by your friend” Maxwell, who she claimed “sounded like a raving nut job the few times I encountered her.”
“Now it’s time for you to give her up,” she said. “Wherever she is or whoever can get the FBI to her — she’s the one the FBI needs to go after for these young ladies, the victims. She used you. Now give her up.”
Oxenberg knew both Epstein and Maxwell, and says she has passed on everything she knows about them to the FBI.
Andrew was booted from royal duties in November following his disastrous attempts to justify his close links to Epstein even after his friend was convicted of child sex offenses. Just a week later, accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre gave a high-profile BBC interview, doubling down on her claims that she was trafficked to have sex with the prince three times, starting when she was 17.
Andrew and Buckingham Palace have always vehemently denied the accusations against him.
