Man found fatally stabbed less than a block from home in Queens
A man was knifed to death outside a Queens hotel less than a block from his home, police said Saturday.
Jose De La Cruz, 54, was found lying on the ground with multiple stab wounds across his body outside a Garden Inn & Suites hotel in Jamaica at about 11:15 p.m. Friday night, authorities said.
He was rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
De La Cruz was just around the corner from his apartment on 135th Avenue when he was killed, police said.
The hotel reportedly doubles as a homeless shelter, though it was not clear whether anyone from the location was connected to the stabbing.
There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing, cops said.
