Alaskan ‘dream hunt’ with Donald Trump Jr. blasted by animal-rights group

Safari Club International is auctioning off a “dream hunt” outing with Donald Trump Jr. and his son for $10,000, sparking outrage from an animal-rights group who said the club was selling a “sick thrill.”

The auction is for a seven-day hunting trip aboard a luxury yacht in Alaska with Don Jr., according to an advertisement flyer for the excursion.

The winning bidder will have the opportunity to shoot Sitka black-tailed deer and sea ducks with the president’s son and grandson, according to the advertisement.

“This year we will be featuring Donald Trump Jr., a man who needs no introduction, and who’s passion for the outdoors makes him the number one ambassador for our way of life,” a description for the auction states.

“Don Jr shares this heritage with his son and believes in handing down these lessons to young hunters,” the descriptions adds.

The auction coincides with a Safari Club convention in Reno, Nevada, on Feb. 5, which is scheduled to feature a headlining performance by the Beach Boys.

Brian Wilson, the former leader of the band, has urged his former band mates to cancel the show, and accused the club of supporting trophy hunting.

Wilson tweeted a link to a petition calling for the band to cancel on Monday, writing that he is “emphatically opposed to” trophy hunting.

Jeff Flocken, the president of Humane Society International, slammed the Don Jr. outing as a “nightmare” for the animals that will be shot.

“Advertised as a ‘dream hunt,’ this hunting trip will be nothing but a nightmare for the Sitka black-tailed deer and sea ducks who find themselves in the gun sights of Donald Trump Jr. and whomever purchases this sick thrill,” Flocken told CNN in a statement.

In 2012, Donald Trump Jr. drew backlash after photos of him and his brother Eric Trump surfaced that showed them posing with dead big-game animals in Africa.

The Trump brother were seen posing with a dead elephant, kudu, civet cat and waterbuck, Gothamist reported.

“Don is looking forward to his speech about hunting and the importance of conservation at the Safari Club convention and is also proud to add Brian Wilson to the long list of liberal Hollywood elites who he has successfully triggered.” Andy Surabian, a spokesman for Donald Trump Jr., said.
