Saweetie is confused by the concept of “too sexy.”
“What? Where they do that at?” asked the rapper, who wore a down-to-there black Brandon Maxwell dress to the designer’s Saturday night New York Fashion Week 2020 show. “There’s never too much sexiness, baby,” she said.
Case in point: She thought the Super Bowl halftime show, which featured Jennifer Lopez pole-dancing and Shakira booty-shaking, was just the right amount of racy.
“Two women that I grew up listening to and I adore. They did their thing, and they were amazing,” she said.
And if the spectacle was too revealing for children, Saweetie offered an easy solution: “Well, then close their eyes!”
The 26-year-old singer, who is about to start recording her debut album, doesn’t hesitate to bare acres of skin at parties and on social media. From the Fenty party at Bergdorf to the Christopher John Rogers show, the Fashion Week goings-on serve as the perfect backdrop for her provocative sensibilities. “I was born with this. I came out this way. Why would I be shy about it?”
But she uses double-sided tape to avoid wardrobe malfunctions. “I can’t be showing this for free, girl! All icy girls gotta take precautions,” she added, referring to her hit song, “Icy Grl.”
Do boyfriends ever ask her to cover up? “They know what they signed up for!” said the artist, who has been dating Quavo of Migos since 2018, and even played his love interest in his “Workin Me” video.
With Valentine’s Day around the corner, she’s wondering what to get for the man who has everything. It’s not hard to shop for Saweetie.
“I hope something sexy and expensive is set up for me,” she said.
