Stranded passengers on board the coronavirus-quarantined cruise liner docked in Japan are forced to wait for their meals to be dropped off at the door by the ship’s crew — as guests remain relegated to their own cabins.
Photos from inside the nightmare Diamond Princess cruise reveal the crew members are wearing protective masks as they distribute meals to its 2,666 passengers.
One image shows four crew members, all wearing protective face masks and gloves, in the doorway of a cabin to deliver what appeared to be bread rolls.
Another image shows a cart full of meals wrapped in tin foil on the cruise, which has been quarantined since Tuesday after a Hong Kong man who sailed on the vessel last month tested positive for the coronavirus.
Princes Cruises reported Thursday that 61 people aboard the ship had been found to have the coronavirus.
Guests on the ship have been instructed to stay in their rooms for a quarantine period until Feb. 19 to prevent any further exposure to the virus.
The flu-like illness — which causes upper respiratory symptoms — has killed more than 800 people in China and infected more than 37,000 others.
