The NYPD is conducting a massive manhunt for the suspect who opened fire on two officers as they sat in their marked police van in the Bronx — using helicopter searchlights to probe the streets of the Hunts Point neighborhood, and aggressively canvassing buildings near the scene.
Officials also released surveillance photos showing the suspected shooter. A $12,500 reward is being offered for any information that helps catch the thug.
“This Police Department will use all its resources to make sure we bring this person to justice,” Police Benevolent Association President Patrick Lynch told reporters Saturday night.
“We hope the courts have the laws that allow them to make sure we get justice,” he said.
