The accused Sarah Lawrence College cult leader nervously chatted up a storm with his lawyer Tuesday as he was ordered held for his next Manhattan federal court hearing Wednesday.
Lawrence Ray, 60, appeared apprehensive and talked constantly with his court-appointed lawyer during Tuesday’s brief appearance in federal court, where he was ordered held till his official arraignment the next day.
He is facing charges including sex trafficking, extortion and money laundering in the alleged decade-long scheme.
Ray — who once served as best man at former top city cop Bernie Kerik’s wedding before the pair fell out — allegedly began sexually, mentally and physically abusing Sarah Lawrence classmates of his daughter, then also a student at the prestigious school, in 2010.
He raked in $500,000 pimping out one co-ed and another half a million dollars extorting at least five more victims, the feds said.
