Bronx deli worker gunned down after arguing with customers
A Bronx deli worker was fatally shot after a fight between him and a group of customers, according to police and shocking surveillance footage.
Mohammed Qutaish, 20, was working the counter at a deli on 3700 White Plains Road in Williamsbridge around 11 a.m. Tuesday when he got involved in a fight that broke out among a group of people, according to police and video.
Qutaish can be seen fending off the rowdy group with what appears to be a broomstick, video shows.
That’s when Adrien Topping, 28, allegedly shot Qutaish in the chest before running out with the group, video shows.
Topping was taken into custody on Wednesday morning and faces charges of murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
He has been busted once before for robbing someone of a purse in November 2017, according to law enforcement sources.
His sister, Raquel Kelly, 25, was also arrested –– but was only charged for criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.
Sources say Kelly was found with a crack pipe on her when she was taken to the precinct for questioning.
Qutaish was rushed to Montefiore Medical Center where he died, police said.
