A judge denied a Manhattan socialite’s motion to up the child support she receives after she skipped a custody hearing in the case Wednesday.
Julianne Michelle Reeves — a 34-year-old philanthropist and actress — previously asked Justice Tandra Dawson to increase payments by her estranged husband, Karl Reeves, from $1,681 per month to $5,663 per month.
Julianne’s attorney, Eleanor Vale, requested an increase to from $7,000 to $10,000 per month in December.
But she didn’t show up to a Manhattan Supreme Court hearing Wednesday, prompting Dawson to deny her request.
The judge also turned down Julianne’s request for a forensic evaluator to analyze her 50-year-old elevator construction executive husband’s cash flow.
“Julianne’s failure to appear is not only disrespectful, but it wastes the Court’s time and my client’s money,” Karl’s lawyer, Robert Wallack, told The Post after the hearing. “And this is just the latest in a long string of unnecessary delays by Ms. Reeves. The parties were married for just 14 months, and yet this divorce has been going on for more than three years.”
Karl has temporary legal and physical custody of their daughter.
“My client still has temporary legal and physical custody of the child and the mother’s contact has been suspended entirely,” Wallack told the court. He continued, “Julianne has not seen her child in months.”
Last week at a family court hearing, a judge ordered Julianne to undergo an updated mental health assessment due to her erratic behavior.
Julianne split from Karl in 2017 and has accused him of being abusive, using cocaine, cavorting with other women and carrying out financial crimes. Karl has denied the accusations.
“We didn’t know about this hearing today. Julianne didn’t even know about,” Julianne’s mother, Jocelyn Engle, told The Post over the phone about why her daughter was a no-show in court.
She added, “Everybody loves Julianne — even Steven Spielberg.”
