Gwyneth Paltrow admits ‘Shallow Hal’ was a ‘disaster’

Gwyneth Paltrow admits her role co-starring in the 2001 drama “Shallow Hal” was a “disaster.”

The “Goop” founder makes the admission in a Netflix US-tweeted video, in which she plays a game called “The BFF Test With Gwyneth Paltrow” with assistant Kevin Keating, who she calls her “right hand” on the website for her lifestyle brand.

Paltrow, 47, quizzes Keating’s knowledge of her in the four-minute video — hitting topics from feminism to her least favorite acting role.

In the video’s first question, Keating praises Goop’s vagina-scented candle — which sparked other celebrities including Erykah Badu to release similar candles of their own — after she asks him what he really thinks of it.

“Well, I’ve smelled the candle, but never smelled a vagina,” Keating, who appears in Paltrow’s new Netflix show “The Goop Lab,” admits.

“It’s very fruity, and sort of, it’s a beautiful smell,” he says.

Paltrow then informs him, “Vaginas don’t smell like that though,” to which Keating responds, “Forget about finding a boyfriend, someone get me a vagina candle!”

When Paltrow asks Keating what her favorite performance is he quickly responds with the correct answer, “Grammys.”

Keating nails it again when Paltrow asks him about her least favorite performance.

“Least favorite performance, I would say would be Shallow Hallow (sic),” Keating says as Paltrow nods and makes an awkward face.

“I’m not sure who told you to do that one, but it wasn’t me,” Keating jokes.

Paltrow then tells him, “That was before your time. See what happened? Disaster.”

Paltrow was paid $10 million to play a 300-pound woman who teaches the title character that beauty is only skin deep in the Farrelly Brothers film — which the Post slammed in its review.

In a 2001 interview with W Magazine, Paltrow admitted she felt “humiliated” filming the flick.

“The clothes they make for women that are overweight are horrible,” Paltrow said. “I felt humiliated because people were really dismissive.”

Paltrow also came under fire on Wednesday for making a coronavirus-themed post on Instagram, calling back to her role as patient zero in the film “Contagion.”
