What Tom Brady really said in awkward Julian Edelman video
Mystery solved.
Speculation ran rampant regarding what Tom Brady said after Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman, sitting next to Brady at Saturday’s Syracuse-North Carolina game, said, “He’s coming back, he’s coming back” in what appeared to be an awkward scene.
Now we know what Brady said, and his response had nothing to do with his looming free agency after 20 years with the Patriots. NFL Network aired the same clip with enhanced audio in which Brady was asked by someone off camera, “What’d you tell Boeheim?”
Brady’s response regarding Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim was, “He’s got it.”
What Tom Brady really said Saturday Night…
Edelman: “He’s coming back, he’s coming back.”
Random guy to Brady: "What did you tell Boeheim?"
Brady: "He's got it."
… So not "this guy" or "he's not."

So no, Brady did not give any indication which team he will be playing for during the 2020 NFL season. He was just immersed in a college hoops game with his longtime teammate Edelman and “The Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon.
