Lyft driver crafts crude coronavirus containment compartment in car

This Lyft driver is taking no chances with the coronavirus in the Big Apple.

The ingenious man fashioned a crude self-containment compartment out of plastic and tape – with a box of tissues sitting at his side – while driving hairstylist Phil Ring.

“If anyone out there is doing Lyft or Uber for work, you may consider doing this to protect yourself and others. Just wanted to post this so you can see how one guy is helping keep himself and others safe,” Ring wrote on Instagram, where he posted a video of the scene that was viewed more than 81,000 times.

The improvised setup generated a mix of reactions online.

“He gets an A+ for creativity!” wrote user Andieobothell.

“That’s ridiculous. He should just wear a face mask if he’s that paranoid. Clownworld,” Scaredchipless posted.

“Good idea but unfortunately the ac is circulating air throughout the car,” said 808jazzywazzy.

And deb.e.deb asked: “Isn’t he just protecting himself.”
