Barnard College was noticeably absent from local crime briefings in the months before Tessa Majors was killed — even as Morningside Park, where she was murdered, experienced a surge in robberies, according to a new report.
While reps from Columbia University showed up to the 26th Precinct stationhouse on West 126th Street semi-regularly to meet with cops and the community, officials from its sister school were seldom seen, a cop told New York Magazine.
“Barnard hasn’t attended,” 26th Precinct communications chief Jason Harper told the outlet. “They weren’t disinvited. They hadn’t expressed interest.”
Barnard told the mag the NYPD briefs school officials regularly.
