A woman died Sunday morning in Staten Island after her boyfriend drunkenly drove off with her on the hood of his car during an argument, police said
The incident happened just before 12 a.m. near Dubois and Egbert avenues in Westerleigh, according to cops.
The 29-year-old woman, identified as Tierra Eddy, and her boyfriend had been fighting early Sunday morning when she jumped on the hood of his car, police sources said.
The 25-year-old boyfriend, Jahfare Ford, then sped off, tossing her from the car, police said.
The man quickly lost control of his car and crashed into a porch on a Dubois Avenue home, sources said. Photos from the scene show the porch’s roof nearly detached from the home.
Steven Sellers, a 48-year-old neighbor, told The Post he heard a boom when the car crashed into the house and ran outside to find Ford standing, disoriented next to his smashed sedan.
“My neighbor and I sat him down on my stoop, just get him to mellow out, calm down,” Sellers said, claiming that Ford drunkenly mumbled, “I was driving, I lost control.”
Sellers had asked if anyone was in the car still and Ford responded no — but spoke incoherently about his “baby’s mama,” Sellers said.
‘Wait, someone’s in the car?’ Sellers asked.
“Not in the car — on the hood. She was on the hood and we had an argument,” Ford responded, according to Sellers.
Then the neighbor spotted Eddy on the side of the house.
“She’s moving! She’s moving!” the other neighbor yelled.
That’s when police and EMS arrived and rushed the woman to Richmond University Medical Center but she died just after 1 a.m., according to authorities.
Ford stayed at the scene and was treated for minor injuries.
Cops arrested the boyfriend was arrested and charged him vehicular manslaughter, assault and driving while intoxicated, according to police.
