The head of Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck, NJ — where as many as 61 patients are hospitalized with COVID-19 — has himself tested positive for the disease, a hospital spokesman confirmed.
Hospital president and CEO Michael Maron, 60, has been quarantined at his home in nearby Oradell this week.
“He’s in stable condition. He doesn’t need hospitalization,” the spokesman told The Post.
Maron sent an email to staff members alerting them to his condition.
“Like so many in our area and in the healthcare field, I’ve tested positive for COVID-19,” Maron said in a statement released by the hospital.
“I’m being monitored by Holy Name’s telemedicine program as I recover at home. I continue to work from home. Thanks to technology, I am in constant “virtual” touch with the Holy Name’s leadership team.
“As soon as I began developing symptoms, I self-quarantined and was tested,” Maron said.
Holy Name has been inundated with COVID-19 patients, adding new wards to handle the influx.
Of 61 suspected COVID-19 cases, 18 are confirmed positives. said spokeswoman Jessica Griffin.
On March 14, the township of Teaneck imposed a voluntary self-quarantine on its 41,000 residents to stem the spread of infection. It was one of the first municipalities in the country to do so.

A prominent Teaneck resident, Dr. James Pruden, director of emergency preparedness at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, N.J., has also been infected and was hospitalized there.
