NYPD cops suspended after profane rant was caught on video

Two NYPD officers have been suspended after being caught on camera in a curse-laden tirade over the cruiser’s megaphone — repeatedly telling a disturbed man to “Shut the f–k up,” The Post had learned.

The two cops, who have not been identified, were stripped of their guns and badges on Thursday night, hours after the video of the graphic encounter was posted online, according to police sources.

One of the officers had 20 years on the job while the other joined the force 18 years ago, sources said.

The back-and-forth between the officers and unknown man, who was mostly screaming incoherently, happened sometime Wednesday night at West 49th Street and Eighth Avenue, according to the Twitter user who posted the video.

At one point, the unknown man can be heard yelling “we gone f–k you up” as the police SUV pulls up to the curb on the avenue.

“Shut up! F–k you and shut up! F–k you. Suck a fat one! … Shut the f–k up before I smack the s–t outta ya.” one of the cops can be heard saying over their vehicle’s megaphone.

“Shut the f–k up! Lick my b—s! F–k you!” the cop later says while pulling away as the pedestrian continues to shout.

Chief Edward Delatorre responded on Twitter saying that he was “alarmed by the footage.”

The NYPD acknowledged the incident Thursday and said it was looking into the matter.

The department did not immediately respond for comment Friday.
