Patrick Mahomes may have replaced Tom Brady as the premier quarterback in the NFL, and now he has taken over as the league’s top merchandise seller, too.
The Chiefs’ dynamic quarterback is No. 1 in “officially licensed player-identified merchandise, including jerseys, trading cards, wall decals, T-shirt and bobbleheads,” according to Variety, after Brady was at the top of the list the past three years.
Mahomes is coming off rallying Kansas City to the Super Bowl 2020 crown, one year after he threw 50 touchdown passes and was the league’s MVP. Brady, who departed New England for Tampa Bay in free agency last month, was second on the list.
They are followed by reigning MVP Lamar Jackson of the Ravens, Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott and Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield. The enigmatic Mayfield had the highest-selling jersey in the 2019 preseason, according to Fanatics, and didn’t fall too far despite an uneven year.
