Casey Affleck and Joaquin Phoenix’s old Manhattan ‘crash pad’ sells

A Hudson Square loft once owned by two Oscar-winning actors, and ex-brothers-in-law, Casey Affleck and Joaquin Phoenix has sold for $3.13 million, according to city property records.

The duplex co-op is at 533 Canal St., a building otherwise known as its alternate address 477 Washington St., located in the southwestern corner of Soho.

Affleck was married to Phoenix’s sister, Summer, from 2006 to 2017. The friends bought the loft to be their Manhattan “crash pad,” sources once told us.

The eight-story building dates to 1911. The unit has nearly 12-foot-high ceilings, original columns, exposed brick, an open kitchen and concrete floors.

It originally asked $3.89 million in 2017.

As Gimme Shelter has reported, this building has been home to other stars. They include R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe, actress Kirsten Dunst and director Gus Van Sant.

The seller’s broker was Jeremy Stein, of Sotheby’s International Realty. The buyer’s broker was Christopher Totaro of Warburg Realty.
