Singer Alec Benjamin releases coronavirus song ‘Six Feet Apart’
It was only a matter of time before someone wrote a coronavirus-themed song.
Singer-songwriter Alec Benjamin, 25, released a new song titled “Six Feet Apart” that talks about life during the coronavirus crisis.
“Oh I, miss you most at six feet apart when you’re right outside my window but can’t ride inside my car,” the Phoenix-based singer croons.
YouTube commenters have commented on how much they related to the song.
“One day I’ll show this song to my kids and tell them about the corona crisis. Being stuck inside. Missing friends and family. Feeling my mental health getting worse day by day,” wrote user Svea Boe.
Others commented that the lyrics, “hit hard.”
“This literally has me in tears it’s how I’ve been feeling this whole time,” wrote user Gabby Jackson.
“Six Feet Apart” has been streamed more than 813,850 times on YouTube with over 69,000 likes by Wednesday night.
Benjamin made news last year when inspiration John Mayer attended his concert, joining him onstage.
“Six Feet Apart” comes more than a month after YouTuber ZDoggMD posted a video of “My Corona” — a comedic parody of the Knack’s hit song “My Sharona.”
