Former state Senate leader Dean Skelos has been moved from prison to home custody due to the coronavirus pandemic, federal prosecutors informed a judge Tuesday in a new court filing.

“Representatives of the Bureau of Prisons have informed the Government that Dean Skelos was released from FCI Otisville earlier today on furlough, and that he will begin his term of home confinement on April 30, 2020,” wrote Assistant US Attorney Audrey Strauss in a letter to Judge Kimba Wood.

Skelos was serving a 51-month term at Otisville minimum-security prison in Orange County when he tested positive for COVID-19 on April 8, according to court filings.

The corrupt pol was convicted at trial in 2018 of strong-arming companies into providing do-nothing jobs and consulting gigs to his son, Adam. Skelos was sentenced to a little over four years.
