Transit thief busted for seventh time after coronavirus jail release

Unlucky No. 7.

A repeated transit thief who was sprung from jail over COVID concerns was busted again on the subway — his seventh run-in with cops since being released, The Post has learned.

The 25-year-old Darryl Naser was arrested Wednesday just before 5:30 pm at the Brooklyn Bridge stop near City Hall where cops recognized the frequent flier with open warrants, cops said.

Naser had two active bench warrants connected to his pending cases on charges of grand larceny and possession of stolen credit cards, police said.

When officers brought him in, they found a K2 cigarette on him and charged him with drug possession, according to police.

This was Naser’s seventh run-in with cops after being released on March 27.

His last scrape with the law was on April 17 when he was busted for stealing a woman’s purse — and cut free on the felony charge shortly after, court records show.

The thief, who sources described as ” literally the definition of a recidivist,” is also a suspect in the robbery of a newsstand in Queens, cops said.

Naser allegedly made off with $5,000 in goods from the Ridgewood stand, near Myrtle and Wyckoff avenues, after it was closed down in early April.

The accused thief has been arrested more than 30 times since 2011 and convicted on two felonies offenses and nine minor crimes, sources said.
