Health care workers at a Manhattan hospital were treated to a firetruck full of gourmet pizza and flowers in an early Mother’s Day present Thursday.
Hero moms and other workers from Lenox Hill Hospital on E. 77th Street enjoyed pies fresh from an oven installed in a former firetruck at the event organized by a lawyer for the FDNY-Firefighters Association.
“This is just a small token of our way of saying thanks,” said Nick Papain of Sullivan, Papain, Block, McGrath, Coffinas and Cannovo, a firm that sponsored the feast.
Front-line heroes in gowns and scrubs lowered their masks for the time it took to enjoy the offerings and give a quick thank you in return — before dashing back to work.
On Tuesday, Real Housewives of New Jersey star Jennifer Aydin donated 2,000 N95 masks to the hospital.
