Trump asks if MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough ‘got away with murder’ over intern death
President Trump renewed his attack on MSNBC’s “Psycho” Joe Scarborough on Tuesday, asking about when a cold case would be opened against the newsman in the death of an intern in his congressional office in 2001.
“When will they open a Cold Case on the Psycho Joe Scarborough matter in Florida. Did he get away with murder? Some people think so,” the president said in a tweet.
“Why did he leave Congress so quietly and quickly? Isn’t it obvious? What’s happening now? A total nut job!” Trump added.
The latest salvo comes after the president last week called for “Concast” — a reference to NBC News’ parent company, Comcast — to investigate Scarborough in the case of Lori Klausutis, a 28-year-old intern who was found dead in Scarborough’s Fort Walton Beach office in Florida when he was a congressman.
The medical examiner ruled the death accidental, saying Klausutis had passed out because of an undiagnosed heart condition and hit her head on a desk.
The “Morning Joe” host, who has assailed the commander-in-chief over his response to the coronavirus pandemic, wasted no time in responding to the tweet on his show.

“Donald, for your sake and for the sake of America, you need to stop watching our show. OK? It’s not good for you,” Scarborough said.
“I think that might be why you go out and … you’re like distracted. You’re tweeting so much — you should actually, maybe read the Johns Hopkins study on deaths per 100,000.”
He added: “Turn off the television, and why don’t you start working, OK? You do your job, we’ll do ours. America will be much better off for that. Just go. Turn off the TV, Donald.”
