Cowboy’s fabulous gymnastics routine wows the internet
From the quarter horse to the pommel horse.
An acrobatic Texas cowboy is roping in the isolated masses with an uproarious improvised gymnastics routine performed outside his ranch, as seen in a viral Facebook video that’s corralled over 40,000 shares.
“I think I won the Zinc Medal for sure,” reads the caption of the comedic May 1 clip, which shows Amarillo resident Guy Bell treating a red fence like a balance beam while decked out in full cowboy regalia. The would-be Simone Bulls can be seen nailing a jump, striking a model pose and finally dismounting by hand-springing off the barrier while his daughter sarcastically cheers him from the sidelines.
The video was filmed on a whim after Bell witnessed his daughter doing some balance work while they were feeding the horses, reports local news station KXAN.
“I handed my dad my phone and say, ‘Hey, Dad, watch this,'” says the impromptu aerialist, who claims his family got such a kick out of his antics that he decided to upload the clip online.
It’s safe to say his video stuck the landing on social media.
“Nailed it,” wrote one newfound fan.
“That’s hilarious!” echoed another. “I used to be a gymnast and that’s exactly how it goes!”
“The HAT enhances the performance!” gushed a Facebook fashionista of the steer wrangler-turned-stuntman’s display. “A 10 in my book!”
One poster even lauded his daughters’ ironic cheerleading, writing, “The little girl sells it so well.”
Fortunately, the Lone Star gymnast isn’t taking himself too seriously. “I love to see people happy and whatever I’m doing I try to make it fun,” says Bell, who has shot a whole series of humorous videos recently to entertain people during the coronavirus lockdown.
While the vids might seem silly, Bell claims that there’s a moral to his madness. “Enjoy every second you have with the ones you love because life is flying by,” he tells KXAN.
