You can kick someone else’s balls, you just can’t touch them, says Nassau County’s top public official.
County Executive Laura Curran — standing in front of a couple tennis players on a court while talking about how to stay safe enjoying the sport amid the coronavirus — dished out the sage advice during a hilarious made-for-“SNL” moment.
“You can kick their balls, but you can’t touch them,” Curran said, immediately drawing laughs from the crowd — and even from her own masked law enforcement detail.
“I’m going to blush, sorry,” she added, chuckling herself.
“Of course, if you’re playing with someone in your household, you can touch those tennis balls,” she continued.
Then the county exec only got herself in deeper.
“To avoid confusion between whose balls are whose, you can use a marker like a Sharpie to mark out with an X and put someone’s initials on them,” she said — as one of her guards looked up to the sky as if to keep himself from bursting out laughing.
