Man admits he’s a ‘scammer’ in WhatsApp bank fraud call
A fraudster trying to dupe a Singapore woman in a banking scheme via a WhatsApp video call admitted he was a scammer.
Vanessa Mittman said her 10-year-old son initially received the May 5 call in which a man on the other end said he was from Singapore’s DBS Bank, according to Storyful.
A fast-thinking Mittman said she knew right away it was a fraud call and started recording it.
During the nearly 10-minute call, in which Mittman repeatedly questioned the impostor and threatened to report him to the police, the man disclosed, “I’m a scammer.”
At one point during the call, the swindler asked Mittman if she was single, video shows.
Mittman told Storyful that she did not waste her time reporting the incident to police since she frequently receives phony calls.
