A Florida man was busted for punching a police dog while cops were trying to stop him from starting a riot, officials said.
Jordan Mosby, 29, hurled items at the windows of two stations in St. Petersburg around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
When no one would join him, he picked up a newspaper stand and chucked it at the Mobil gas station on 34th Street South, according to cops.
When officers tried to arrest Mosby, he ran across the street and fought with them, the Tampa Bay Times reported.
At one point during the scuffle, he punched a police dog, and then its handler, police said.
Several officers were needed to take him into custody.
Mosby is facing three felony charges for battery on a law enforcement officer, one felony charge of inciting a riot, and a misdemeanor charge for punching the dog, authorities said.
He is being held at the Pinellas County jail, records show as of Wednesday afternoon.
