Lin-Manuel Miranda dings John Bolton for lifting memoir title from ‘Hamilton’ song

John Bolton is not throwing away his shot … to “cash-in.”

That’s what “Hamilton” creator Lin-Manuel Miranda said Thursday, panning President Trump’s former national security adviser for lifting the title of his upcoming White House memoir from a song in the smash Broadway musical.

Bolton’s book — set to be published Tuesday, assuming it survives a legal challenge from the federal Department of Justice — is titled “The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir,” similar to the musical’s “The Room Where It Happens.”

In a tweet riffing off of another number from the show, “Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story,” Miranda also dinged Bolton for opting to profit off of his bombshell claims with a book deal instead of coming forward sooner to testify before Congress.

“Let me tell you what I wish I’d known When I was young and dreamed of glory You have no control Who lives, who dies, who [borrows your song title to write a cash-in book when they could have testified before Congress] tells your story…” posted Miranda.

The post also included a link to sign up to volunteer with Fair Fight, a group founded by former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams to combat voter suppression.

Democrats including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) have ripped Bolton for refusing to testify during the impeachment proceedings against Trump, only to release a blistering account of his time in the White House under a lucrative book deal.
