Listen to Episode 7 of ‘Pinstripe Pod’: Baseball’s Back, Tanaka’s Head feat. Ken Davidoff

Pinstripe Pod Episode 7 Yankees Masahiro Tanaka
N.Y. Post: Charles Wenzelberg

Baseball is finally in the air and the Yankees are expected to open the season July 23 against the defending World Series champion Washington Nationals. With baseball back, so is our New York Post Yankees podcast, “Pinstripe Pod” with Chris Shearn and four-time World Series champion Jeff Nelson.

Shearn and Nellie open the show talking about the 60-game season ahead, the frustrating negotiations between the owners and the players union and what the rosters will look like as the season goes on. The guys also talk about DJ LeMahieu and Luis Cessa coming down with COVID-19 and what will happen if more players get the virus. They also discuss the line drive off Giancarlo Stanton’s bat Saturday at Yankee Stadium that drilled Masahiro Tanaka in the head, leaving him with a mild concussion.

NY Post baseball columnist Ken Davidoff then joins Shearn and Nellie. Davidoff discusses how different it will be for media covering the team during these uncharted times. Davidoff then gets into Tanaka’s injury and when he might return, whether MLB will get through the season, the difficult job ahead for Aaron Boone and Gerrit Cole’s role. He believes that MLB will not get through the entire season. Davidoff also talks about whether there will be fans in the stands and different ways to make the games entertaining for fans if they are not there.
