At 13 least people were shot in New York City on Wednesday and Thursday — continuing the recent surge in shootings citywide, authorities said.
A 31-year-old man was shot once in the stomach at East 143rd Street and Hamilton Place in Hamilton Heights around 6:10 a.m. Thursday, cops said.
He was taken to Harlem Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and cops describe him as highly uncooperative.
About two hours earlier, a 27-year-old man was grazed in the left leg at Bronx River Parkway and Bruckner Expressway when a vehicle pulled up next to him and fired rounds, according to police sources.
He refused medical attention.
Around 2:30 a.m. Thursday, a 32-year-old man was shot in the buttocks on Malcolm X Boulevard near West 140th Street, police sources said.
The victim, who reported hearing shots and feeling pain, was taken to Lincoln Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Then around 11 p.m. Wednesday, two strangers shot a 26-year-old man in the chest at 146th Street and Archer Avenue in Jamaica, according to police sources.
He was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in stable condition, cops said.
A 17-year-old boy also shot in the incident walked into Queens Hospital Center with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, according to police sources.
Around 9:45 p.m., a 35-year-old man was blasted in the leg during a drive-by shooting at Lexington Avenue and East 126th Street in East Harlem, cops said.
The victim was taken to Harlem Hospital in stable condition.
Two hours earlier, a 61-year-old woman was shot in the leg in front of the Forest Houses at East 163rd Street and Tinton Avenue in the Bronx.
The woman, who did not appear to be the intended target, was taken to Lincoln Medical Center in stable condition.
An 18-year-old was shot dead and an older man wounded in a broad-daylight shooting in Brooklyn — just after 3:30 p.m. on the corner of Ocean and Woodruff avenues in Flatbush, police said.
The teen, whose name was not released pending notification of his family, was shot in the chest and arms and died at Kings County Hospital a short time later, police said.
A 33-year-old man was shot in the stomach and rushed to Kings County Hospital, where he was expected to recover, cops said.
He appeared to be an innocent bystander, according to a high-ranking source.
It appeared that the teen and another man, who took off in a BMW SUV, had been firing at each other, according to police sources.
A total of eight shooting incidents with 10 victims were reported Wednesday alone. On that day in 2019, there was only one shooting with one victim.
