In the aftermath of Notre Dame moving to remote classes following an on-campus outbreak of COVID-19 cases, the school’s football team has opted to undergo two rounds of testing.
The first round has produced five positive tests of players and another six being placed in quarantine due to contact with those positive cases, Notre Dame announced on Thursday.
Practice was canceled on Thursday with another round of testing set for Friday. The team will only return to practice based on advice of the school’s medical staff.
Since students began returning to campus, the outbreak has risen to 304 positive tests.
