Pennsylvania lawmakers go topless to warn voters against ‘naked ballots’

A group of Pennsylvania lawmakers posed topless to help remind voters to avoid submitting so-called naked mail-in ballots.

“Desperate times call for desperate measures!” Allegheny County Councilwoman Bethany Hallam tweeted on Saturday.

“So your favorite elected officials got naked so that you remember to make sure that your mail-in ballot is NOT submitted without its secrecy envelope!! #nonakedballots #dressyourballot.”

The topless tweet comes after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled earlier this month that ballots had to be rejected if not enclosed in the proper secrecy envelope.

The decision left Democratic leaders fearing a large number of votes could be invalidated in the battleground state that President Trump narrowly won in 2016.

Hallam, who thought of the idea, posed with Allegheny County Councilwoman Olivia Bennett and Pennsylvania State Representative-elect Emily Kinkaid, WTAE-TV reported.
