Three men wounded in drive-by shooting in Jamaica

Three men were wounded in a drive-by shooting in Jamaica late Saturday, as the rash of shootings in the five boroughs continued.

Police said multiple shots rang out from a black Jeep Cherokee that drove past 106-35 159th Street shortly before midnight, hitting the trio of victims as well as seven vehicles parked at the scene.

One of the men was struck in the right leg, another in the right thigh, and the third in the right arm.

They were taken to Jamaica Hospital, where all three were treated and are expected to survive, police said.

The shooting is under investigation and no arrests have been reported, according to police.

The gunplay comes amid a months-long rash of gunplay in the Big Apple, including two men who were shot in separate incidents Saturday.

One 29-year-old man was shot in the head on East 149th Street in the Bronx around 5:30 a.m., and the other victim, 19, was hit with a single bullet to the head in Canarsie in Brooklyn around 1 p.m., police said.

The Bronx man is expected to recover, but the Brooklyn victim was rushed to Brookdale Hospital and is not expected to survive, police said.

In all, police said there were seven people hit in five shootings on Saturday, up from three victims in three shootings on the same day in 2019.

There was one homicide in the city Saturday, down from four homicides on the same date last year, the statistics show.
