The smash-up occurred just before 5:30 p.m. on the expressway at the Fort Hamilton Parkway. One of the vehicles appears to have been rear-ended by a truck, while two other cars can be seen with front-end damage. The ambulance was left lying on its side next to the truck, facing the wrong way and with its windshield smashed, photos show. The FDNY said three people suffered minor injuries. It was unclear if the ambulance was transporting someone at the time of the crash. The NYPD did not have any details on the crash.
