WASHINGTON — A prominent Democratic congressman on Friday sent an email of support to Hunter Biden’s ex-business partner Tony Bobulinski, telling him he would defend him against slander in the media.

The email from California Rep. Ro Khanna, a former Obama administration official and co-chair of Sen. Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign, follows Bobulinski’s bombshell claims that he met Joe Biden and that the former vice president was involved in his son Hunter Biden’s shady overseas deals, first revealed by The Post.

“Tony, hope you are doing okay,” Khanna wrote in a Friday morning email obtained by Fox News.

“I did give an on the record statement to The NY Times that I know you, you have always acted honorably with me, and you and other family members supported me,” he went on.

Records show that Bobulinski, a US Navy veteran, has donated $21,400 to Khanna since 2013.

Khanna told the businessman that he “refused to comment on the details of your allegations because I don’t have personal knowledge about that, but have said I respect your service to our country and that you have never been a ‘partisan hack’ in our interactions and have talked about putting country over party.”

“I also have made it clear that I do not think you are a Russian agent. I will continue to make that statement to any media that asks.”

Prominent Democrats in Congress, including House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), have claimed that the reports on emails from Hunter Biden’s hard drive were “Russian disinformation” and a smear that came “from the Kremlin.”

Khanna signed off his email to Bobulinski with his cellphone number and an offer to chat.

“After the heat of the election, if you want to, I am happy to chat,” he wrote. “On a personal level, I wish you and your family the best.”

Joe Biden, the Democratic presidential nominee, in the past has vehemently denied that he had any knowledge of his son’s business dealings in Ukraine and China.

But in a bombshell statement to The Post, Bobulinski accused Biden of lying and said they discussed the family business during a meeting at a Los Angeles hotel on May 2, 2017.

A new report Thursday claimed that Bobulinski had since met with the FBI as part of a previously unknown investigation into allegations of money-laundering by Hunter Biden and his associates.
