A gang member fatally blasted his pal during a bungled ambush earlier this month, Queens prosecutors said Tuesday.
Nazieer Basir, 22, his accomplice, Royhessny Sintjago, and two other men approached a car packed with rival gangsters on December 7 in Ozone Park around 10 p.m., officials said.
But the vehicle sped off before they could launch their attack and Sintjago ran after it while brandishing a tire iron.
Basir squeezed several rounds in the direction of the car and accidentally struck Sintjago in the head at 90th St. and Liberty Ave, officials said.
He later died from his injuries.
“This is an appalling example of stupid, senseless violence turning deadly,” said Queens DA Melissa Katz in a statement. “The defendant charged here allegedly fired his illegal gun, missed his intended target, and killed his would-be accomplice. This mindless bloodshed must stop.”
Officials said Basir, of Jamaica, fled the borough but was eventually located and arrested by police.
He was arraigned Tuesday and remanded without bail.
Basir faces up to 25 years in prison on murder, manslaughter and weapons raps and has his next court date next month.
