A 9-year-old boy heroically saved his younger sister during an armed carjacking at a gas station in Alabama, according to reports.
The terrifying ordeal occurred while Ethan Walker was in the back seat of the car with his 6-year-old sister, Audrey, on Thursday in Moody, news station WBMA reported.
While his mother, Kristin Walker, was putting gas into the car, a man got out of a nearby Chevrolet SUV and jumped into the front seat.
“I actually jumped in on top of him and pulled the keys out of the ignition,’’ the mom told AL.com.
But the man pulled a gun on the mom, who is pregnant.
“At that moment, Ethan was very quick to jump out the car and go around, get his little sister out,” Kristin told WBMA.
The suspect took off in the family’s vehicle, police said.
Kristin said she’s “just so thankful” for her son’s quick response.
“Ethan was so calm, cool and collected through the whole thing,“ she told AL.com.
Police later were able to track down two suspects, who were identified as 18-year-old Kendarian Toran and 23-year-old Eric White, AL.com reported.
They’re both in custody and charges will be filed against them at a later date, the outlet reported.
Police said they will honor Ethan’s “incredible act of bravery” later on.
“He’s pretty excited about that and I’m so proud,’’ his mom told AL.com.
