A third of Americans say they now know someone who has died from COVID-19 — double the figure from just this past summer, a new poll shows.
Thirty-three percent of people surveyed over the past few days reported knowing someone who died, the highest figure since the start of the pandemic, according to researchers of the Axios-Ipsos poll.
Meanwhile, the number of Americans who fear getting sick from the coronavirus dropped to 69 percent — from 74 percent two weeks ago, the survey found.
The number of people social-distancing also dropped — from 79 percent to 74 percent — for the same period, researchers said.
