It’s cat shaming.
An alleged exorcist warned a Wisconsin woman that her creepy-looking kitty appeared to be possessed by a demon and should be imprisoned and prayed over. This comes after the fright-inducing feline went viral online for its nightmarish appearance, Kennedy News reported.
“I think he was trying to tell me that’s why my cat is making all of these crazy faces,” said Green Bay’s Alyson Kalhagen, who was messaged by the so-called demon doctor after posting Facebook photos of Pixel, her 2-year-old Cornish Rex. Intended to showcase the kitten’s “eloquence” and “refinement,” the pics depict the skeletal-looking pet staring at the camera with demonic yellow eyes while baring fangs worthy of Dracula.
Needless to say, the self-proclaimed exorcist was quick to diagnose Pixel’s supposed affliction when they messaged Kalhagen.
“I am an exorcist and there’s a cloud behind your cat it’s a demon,” they wrote of the bat-eared cat, explaining that it was using Kalhagen’s “cat as a puppet.”
They claimed that the evil entity was practicing by possessing Pixel’s face because it “doesn’t know how to use your cat’s body.”
In order to exorcise the malevolent presence, the owner would have to cage the kitty and pray to the “archangel Michael” that the “demon will leave,” per the unsolicited prescription.
“Good luck with your cat,” the exorcist added.
The advice appears to have been dismissed by Kalhagen, who said the Pixel’s “demon cat” description has become a “recurring theme.”
” ‘All the time people say, ‘This is the creepiest cat I’ve ever seen … My sleep paralysis demon has come to life,’ said the mother of one, “and if they saw him in the middle of the night, they’d have a heart attack and it would scare them to death.”
Kalhagen recounted one instance “where there was a snow removal guy outside and Pixel was sitting in the window, and I heard the guy go, ‘Wow, you’re weird.’ “
Meanwhile, others have compared Pixel’s peculiar visage to everything from aliens to kangaroos and Tim Burton characters, Kennedy News reported.
Kalhagen believes the gawkers are shocked by her pet’s disproportionately small head, gaunt body and googly eyes — features that are all fairly typical of the UK breed, according to Catster.
“If people haven’t seen a cat like that before — they would be maybe a little apprehensive to begin with because they’re not quite sure what they’re looking at,” said Kalhagen who has owned her fur baby since he was 12 weeks old.
Some might think Pixel’s been coerced into making these freaky expressions. However, his owner insists “these are actually the faces he makes on a daily basis.”
Wisconsinite has even refrained from uploading some of the pics, having deemed Pixel’s faces “too wild for public consumption.”
However, Pixel shouldn’t be ashamed of his looks. The creeptacular cat currently boasts 12,000 followers on social media, while a pic of Pixel in a batsuit won a Halloween photo contest at the local vet.
Kalhagan has also been contacted by adoring fans, who claim that the “photos make them so happy and that they have such a good time sharing them with their kids in the morning.”
“It makes my day to hear that he’s brought someone a smile — especially in these times,” she said.
