The Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League released former Giants wide receiver Travis Rudolph on Wednesday after he was arrested on several charges, including first-degree murder, following a Florida shooting.
Rudolph, 25, signed with the Blue Bombers in December 2019 but never played for them as the 2020 CFL season was canceled because of COVID-19.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday that Rudolph was arrested after a double shooting in Lake Park that left one man dead and sent another to a hospital. Rudolph is also being charged with shooting at two other people who were not injured.
Rudolph played one season for the Giants in 2017 after going undrafted. He went viral while with Florida State in 2016 after he was pictured eating lunch with an autistic sixth-grader who was eating alone.
