Former Trump 2020 campaign manager Brad Parscale is assisting Caitlyn Jenner as she mulls a potential challenge to California Gov. Gavin Newsom in this year’s recall, a source familiar with the matter tells The Post.
Parscale, who has known Jenner personally for a few years, is helping her with staffing critical personnel as she considers launching a gubernatorial bid, the source says.
The former campaign manager began connecting the Olympian and reality television star with the right politicos for her team after she reached out asking for assistance.
A rep for Jenner did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
Reports about Parscale being involved in the effort come a few days after news of Jenner’s interest in moving to Sacramento began to circulate.
Jenner, a former member of the Kardashian-Jenner reality television empire, was reported on Monday to be very seriously considering running to oversee the state with the world’s fifth-largest economy.
While Jenner may have grand political ambitions, a source close to Parscale told The Post he was not interested in being campaign manager for a second time, though he could be asked to join the Jenner team as an adviser down the line.
Jenner, 71, was a one-time supporter of former President Donald Trump, and would challenge Newsom as a Republican.
Decades prior to her reality television success, Jenner — who came out as a trans woman in 2015 — shot to fame as a gold medal-winning decathlete in the 1976 Olympics.
Should Jenner undertake the run and win, it would not be the first time a high-profile Republican has succeeded in a California recall election.
Newsom, a Democrat, is not up for re-election until 2022.
In the past year, he has seen his approval rating plummet in response to the stringent restrictions he placed on businesses and the state’s closure of schools, neither of which played a strong role in actually stopping the spread of coronavirus in the state.
As a result, a recall effort was launched that announced in mid-March it had reached nearly 2 million signatures, well above the 1.5 million needed to force an election.
The GOP makes up only 24 percent of registered California voters, but organizers said they had begun attracting Democrats and independents frustrated with their governor.
