Man shot dead in car on Upper East Side
A 20-year-old man was shot dead while sitting in a car on the Upper East Side in a broad daylight attack Monday, police said.
The gunplay happened just before 2:30 p.m. on East 95th Street between Lexington and Park avenues where an unknown gunman walked up to the car and shot the man in the stomach, cops said.
The man, whose name was not released, was rushed to Mount Sinai where he died, authorities said.
The gunman fled in a white sedan, cops said.
The latest act of gun violence comes a day after the Big Apple recorded the bloodiest week of shootings this year.
It was the third shooting on the Upper East Side this year, NYPD data shows.
“Even the Upper East Side is not safe,” a police source said.
