Man slashed in back of the head in Union Square subway station
A 44-year-old was slashed in the back of the neck by a man wielding a pocket knife on a subway platform in Manhattan Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The incident happened on an L train platform in Union Square around 4 p.m., when the two men got into a verbal dispute, cops said.
The man with the knife, who is between 20 and 25 years old, cut the victim in the neck after the fight escalated, according to police.
The attacker fled on the L train and the victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.
The knife-wielding man was described as having a slim build and wearing all black with a neon yellow shirt, cops said.
