Trae Young checks on 50 Cent after spitting incident at MSG

Trae Young has chimed in on the spitting incident Wednesday night at MSG.

A viral video from the Knicks’ Game 2 win over the Hawks seemingly shows Young get spit on, with fitness influencer and model Cuban Link, who was sitting courtside, also in the line of fire. The fan was banned from MSG indefinitely for spitting on Young.

The moment occurred in the fourth quarter while she was sitting in-between her boyfriend, rapper 50 Cent, and actress Julianne Moore as Young was about to inbound the ball. At that point, the Garden had been roaring with constant “f–k Trae Young” chants and cruel jokes about his hair.

“Damn… Crazy,” Young tweeted in response to the video. “@50Cent y’all good?!”

Young also tweeted, “Keep ya mask on my boy #ThatsJustChildish.”

The unidentified spitter launched a wet one toward Young over 50 Cent and his female guest, who appeared to get hit with remnants of saliva. Young shrugged his shoulders after the spit flew.

Meanwhile, Knicks star Derrick Rose appeared grossed out by the moment when cameras caught him making a dismissive face while on the bench.

Following the heavy trolling and 101-92 loss, Young gestured to the crowd at MSG that he will see them in Atlanta for Game 3 on Friday. The series is tied 1-1.

Young finished the night with 30 points, seven assists and one rebound in 35 minutes of play.

On Thursday, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith called for the spitter to be arrested while recapping the game on “First Take.” Co-host Max Kellerman branded it as “uncivilized.”

The spitting act came on the same night a Sixers fan dumped popcorn on Wizards point guard Russell Westbrook’s head when he exited the game with an ankle injury.

Westbrook and Lakers star LeBron James have since called for more player protection over mistreatment from fans. The fan who poured popcorn is having his season ticket revoked, the 76ers said, and will be banned from their arena indefinitely. The NBA said “an enhanced fan code of conduct will be vigorously enforced.”
