10-year-old boy killed in NYC shooting
A 10-year-old boy was killed and a man was wounded during a drive-by shooting in Queens on Saturday, police and sources said.
The child and a 29-year-old man were walking into a building at 342 Beach 45th St. in Far Rockaway around 9:30 p.m. when gunfire broke out, according to law enforcement sources.
The boy, who was struck in the abdomen, was taken to St. John’s hospital where he was pronounced dead, cops and sources said.
The man, who lives at that address, was taken to Jamaica Hospital with a gunshot wound to the shoulder, according to the sources. He was expected to survive.
The relationship between the two wasn’t immediately clear, but sources said they are likely related.
The gunfire erupted following an earlier argument with a neighbor, sources said.
Jacob — a neighbor who did not give his last name to The Post — said his family was having a cookout around the corner when the shooting started.
“They saw a guy pull up in a car and start arguing. They said someone went into the house. After that I guess they were arguing,” Jacob said.
And that’s when the shooting happened, Jacob’s family told him.
“When I came out he was already in the ambulance. You could see inside the ambulance they were working on him trying to pump,” said another neighbor, who did not want their name published.
“I didn’t know him, I heard he was visiting,” the neighbor said, adding they heard about six gunshots.
Cops looking for a black SUV, sources said.
The investigation is ongoing.
The fatal incident was one of at least five shootings reported across the city on Saturday, beginning just before 6 p.m. in The Bronx.

Two suspects fled down 171th Street toward Grand Concourse, according to cops.
A few minutes later, an 18-year-old was shot in the calf and a 20-year-old was struck in the foot at 528 Leland Ave. in Castle Hill, the NYPD said. Both were taken to Jacobi Hospital and were expected to recover.
Then, also in The Bronx, a dispute between two vendors erupted in gunfire that wounded a bystander at around 7:30 p.m,, according to police sources.
The errant gunshot struck a 55-year-old man in the shoulder on East 188th Street in the Fordham section, the sources said. He was taken to Saint Barnabas hospital and was expected to recover.
Later in Manhattan, a 27-year-old man was shot in the right ankle on Sixth Avenue and West 38th Street. He was found nearby on West 37th Street and taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.
