It’s the Verzuz battle fans have been waiting for.
In a showdown of late ’90s/early aughts rap divas, Eve will face off against Trina in the next installment of the popular hip-hop and R&B series on June 16.
You can expect Eve — now free from “The Talk” after four seasons — to throw down hits such as “Who’s That Girl?,” “Gangsta Lovin’” and “Let Me Blow Ya Mind” against Trina’s “Da Baddest Bitch,” “B R Right” and “Here We Go.”
The Eve vs. Trina bout is finally happening after months of online clamoring from fans requesting this specific matchup for the increasingly trending viral music series.
It will mark the first Verzuz between two female rappers, after previous battles between male emcees such as Snoop Dogg and DMX, Fabolous and Jadakiss, 2 Chainz and Rick Ross, Brandy and Monica, Redman and Method Man, and more.
Also announced was a June 26 Verzuz between rappers Bow Wow and Soulja Boy.
The Verzuz series started off as a battle between its creators — producers Timbaland and Swizz Beatz — during the height of the pandemic in March 2020. Since then, there have been such memorable matchups as Jill Scott vs. Erykah Badu, Alicia Keys vs. John Legend, and Earth, Wind & Fire vs. the Isley Brothers.
In the most recent Verzuz, Timbaland and Swizz had a rematch over Memorial Day weekend.
