After leaving fans hanging for years, all five Spice Girls — including perpetual holdout Victoria Beckham — have finally reunited to show their unified support for the LGBTQ+ community.
Fans around the world have anticipated a reunion of all five “Wannabe” singers after their 2019 Spice World Tour, which 47-year-old Beckham opted out of to focus her energy on her growing fashion line.
But this time around, the designer was the one to coordinate the girls’ virtual reunion.
Beckham created a Pride collection with the mission to donate 100% of the proceeds to akt, a charity which “supports LGBTQ+ young people, aged 16-25, in the UK who are facing or experiencing homelessness or living in a hostile environment.”
This digital reunion posted on Instagram featured Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell and Beckham each sporting their LGBTQ+ merchandise while the 1996 tune “Wannabe” cranks in the background.
This is Beckham’s third year in a row partnering with the akt charity, but the first year she has created a tribute Spice Girls collaboration.
“Pride to me is a celebration of being completely yourself and this year’s T-shirt is a reminder of that,” she wrote on Instagram. “The Spice Girls really championed accepting yourself and others, being kind, having fun and just living your best life!”
“The LGBTQ+ community is so close to my heart and I’m so proud to be supporting Pride 2021 with the girls and akt again this year,” she added.
