Derek Carr: I wasn’t the ‘motherf–ker’ Tom Brady was mocking

Derek Carr is setting the record straight.

The Raiders quarterback says he’s not the “motherf–ker” Tom Brady was referring to in comments he made on HBO’s “The Shop” while discussing his free agency before the 2020 season.

“From what I know, it wasn’t me, which is good,” Carr said on “Brother from Another” on Wednesday.

“If it was, I’ve gotten in enough trouble trying to challenge people to fights. But, as a man, Tom, I know you got the rings, but if it’s not me then we’re good. What I heard, it wasn’t me, and so I’m good with that.”

Carr declined to name names, but he said he received the info from “a good source.”

Brady’s cryptic comment came in a late June episode of “The Shop,” when he revealed a a mystery team passed on him to keep their quarterback when he decided to leave New England after 20 years.

“One of the teams, they weren’t interested at the very end. I was thinking, ‘You’re sticking with that motherf–ker?’” Brady recalled, laughing.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion did not name the team or quarterback, which ultimately sparked a guessing game among fans and sports analysts.

Carr, along with Brady’s former Patriots teammate Jimmy Garoppolo (49ers), Ryan Tannehill (Titans), Mitch Trubisky (Bears) and retired Saints quarterback Drew Brees were among the speculated potential “motherf–kers.”

Brady has still yet to divulge the truth behind the story.

Whichever team passed on Brady must still feel the loss, as he went on to sign a two-year, $50 million contract with the Buccaneers and led them to a Super Bowl win in his first year. The Bucs are also in solid position to repeat with all their starters returning.

Brady is fresh off a long-awaited knee surgery and is hoping the procedure will allow him to perform at his very best — although fans believed they’ve already seen that side of him.

The Bucs extended Brady’s contract this offseason in a deal that will keep the future Hall of Famer in Tampa through the 2022 season.
